Your Favorite Shows Are Making a Comeback!

by Delanee Ensley

Remember the heartbreak you felt when your favorite TV show finished its last season? Well, cast that feeling aside because your favorite show might be getting a reboot! Here are the shows that are coming to HBO Max, Hulu, Paramount+, and more that we are most excited about!

Gossip Girl

Ralph Lauren, Gucci, and Chanel oh my! “Gossip Girl” is back, bringing us a new mysterious gossip queen to rule the halls of the elite Constance Billard. The new season of this timeless show aired in July of this year, and viewers everywhere have so many questions; the most important one being will the original characters make a comeback?? The answer is yes! Though fans are still unsure if the original actors will take their old roles or if we will get new ones, we are all excited to see “Gossip Girl” in this advanced time of technology. You can watch the new season of “Gossip Girl” on HBO Max.

How I Met Your Father

We all remember MacLaren’s Pub and the adventures Ted and his friends went on. Instead of trying to figure out who Ted ends up with, we will be following the mystery of a new heroine. Hillary Duff plays Sophie, a woman who will tell her children the story of how she met their father. Much like the original show, the episodes will incorporate flashbacks to show Sophie and her friend’s adventures throughout New York City. Though the show is still in its early stages of production and does not yet have a premiere date, it is set to launch on Hulu.

And Just Like That

Your favorite foursome is back, or well, threesome! Unfortunately, Kim Catrall, the actor who played Samantha, has chosen not to be a part of the reboot. The writers and producers of “Sex and the City” decided that instead of finding a replacement actress, they will leave Samantha out for this limited-time series to show that friendships sometimes end and that people grow apart. As of right now, there is no set release date other than the fact that we know it’s coming later this year. You will be able to find the 10-episode limited series on HBO Max when it airs.

Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

We are all familiar with the early 90s sitcom “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” but what if it was a drama? This reboot, which has been scheduled for two seasons, sees the sitcom from a dramatic point of view. What if that one little fight was bigger? Not everything can be a comedy, and these new seasons show the real side of what it means to be Black in America. Though we’re still unsure of when it will premiere or where it will be streaming, we can be sure the show will air.

iCarly

Every teen or young adult remembers Carly, Sam, and Freddie and the amazing web show they put on. When the show ended, it was sad, but now we get to relive Carly Shay and her friend’s crazy adventures. However, something is missing, or I should say someone; Sam Puckett. Though we miss Jennette McCurdy, the show did a great job explaining why she is not in the reboot; Sam being Sam is off on her crazy adventures. The real reason she is not on the show, however, is that she is working on writing and reviving her one-woman show. “iCarly” premiered on July 17th, 2021 and can be viewed on Paramout+.
